• I currently have 1.5 gamma(2005-2-7) installed. Shall I do any other steps aside from overwriting the files with the new stable release? Are there some database changes since then?

  • as far as i know, it’s best to first delete the files, upload new ones, then run upgrade.php. you still have to run upgrade.php even though you’re already using 1.5 gamma

    Just follow the instructions:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress

    The upgrading page is dead..
    I’ve overwritten all 1.5 beta files except thte theme and upgraded. Now my page is empty. 🙁

    If your blog and WP admin files are installed into different directories then you need to add this line to your root index.php file (not your theme index.php, but the index.php at your blog address).

    define(‘WP_USE_THEMES’, true);

    Basically, all you have to do is follow the simple upgrade instructions.

    1. Delete your old WP files, saving ones you’ve modified

    2. Upload the new files

    3. Point your browser to /wp-admin/upgrade.php

    4. You wanted more, perhaps? That’s it!

    Good luck!
