After some brute force attacks, I’m trying to get some of my WP installations working. Having this problem with one.

I can’t install any plugins through the interface. I know I can problem download them and unpack them myself, but I want to fix the reason, not just work around it.

    I get the following error:
    Destination folder already exists. /httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/.../
where the ‘…’ is any plugin folder name.

What looks odd to me is the presence of “httpdocs”, which is the name of the folder that is the document root folder for the web site.

Should it be trying to put the plugin in “/wp-content/plugins” instead of “/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins”?

    Where is this set?

I was using the wrong ftp username in the installation process and it was pointing to another domain on the same virtual server. That other domain already had the plugins installed, so it was reporting that the directory already exists.
