Hi and thanks for the feedback.
I’ve looked into it and it’s a bit nerve-wracking: Single quotes, double quotes, URL encoding, WordPress vs YouTube vs PHP… 😉
I couldn’t come up with a better and more usable solution than adding a new option, “exact”, which allows you to do a search for exact matches. It’s implemented in the latest plugin version (1.1.0) now.
So if you’re using the shortcode you might want to add [relatedYouTubeVideos ... exact="true"]
.
And if you’re using the widget there is a new “exact” checkbox that will turn this type of search on and off.

Hi thanks a lot! Although I’ve updated the plugin and the shortcode but it’s still not working and the results are the same (broad match still). here are my settings:
[relatedYouTubeVideos relation="keywords" terms="'.$stores_url.'" max="1" exact="true"]
$stores_url is in the format “domain.com”

Mhh.. that is weird. When I’m testing this
[relatedYouTubeVideos relation="keywords" terms="evans.co.uk" max="1" exact="true"]
[relatedYouTubeVideos relation="keywords" terms="evans.co.uk" max="1"]
I’m getting two different videos.
But I’ll keep looking into it..
