I just updated both WordPress and Easy Sign Up to the latest versions, and now the form has a large gap above it that I can’t get rid of. This is why I rarely update anything! I don’t know if the cause is Easy Sign Up or something else, but I’ve tried everything from tweaking my theme to deactivating all other plugins. I also tried getting rid of the <p></p> around the form, but that didn’t do anything. See blank space above Easy Sign Up form in right sidebar at http://www.renewableenergywriter.com/ . The HTML in the Right Sidebar Widget is:

    <h3>Renewable Energy Marketing Newsletter</h3>
<p>Sign up for my monthly marketing newsletter with tips, articles and special reports for marketing your renewable energy business. You may unsubscribe at any time.</p>

    <p>[easy_sign_up]</p>

    <h3>Memberships</h3>

    etc.

Hi Doug – why not use the easy sign up widget?

If this is not an option you can a) remove the <p> tags around the shortcode and uncheck the option to Automatically add paragraphs.

That should do it, if not it may be your theme is taking over and adding the formatting.
If this is the cause talk to your developer or get back in touch with me.

    Hi Greenweb,

Thanks…duh…uncheck Automatically add paragraphs did the trick. I obviously wasn’t paying attention yesterday. On another topic, after adding Easy Sign Up to my site last year, I inquired about an issue related to the confirmation email. People who sign up on my site receive an email that looks like it comes from “mindfun3@box308.bluehost.com” (some mysterious email address related to my hosting provider). (At least the subject line of the confirmation email is correct: “Email confirmation from Doug Hanvey.”) On the ESU Options page, I have both Notification Email and Automated Reply Email set to doug@renewableenergywriter.com. That would be the preferred return address to show, but it doesn’t. Any new solutions?

Your host must be imposing it’s own from headers thus overwriting the ones created by plugin.

For most folks out there the From header would be the websites name and the Automated Reply Email.

These are 2 headers, the first is generated by my test server and the second is generated by your host.
