    Hi there,

I just updated my blog to 3.5.2 and when I try to get to my admin panel, I land on the page which requests me to update the database: “Database Update Required

WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.

The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.”

When I click on “Update WordPress Database”, I land on a “blank page” where pretty much nothing but the wordpress logo is there.

Can anybody help please? Already tried setting the limit of the “upgrade.php” to 256M and didn’t work, neither did clearing the cache and cookies.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Hi esmi,

thanks, tried exactly that and it led me to “refill” the wp-config which I did then too … and now I’m back at where I was.

    Any other ideas?

    Thx!

Btw, in the wp_options table, my db version is “22441” … if that helps.

Solved, just changed db_version in the wp_options table to “22442” – and I can access it again!

Same for me. Had to use PHPmyadmin to manually edit the wp_options table to make the current database version 22442. Immediate access again.

So I assume someone will create a fix and another update soon???
