• hello, so a while back my website was broken and i had to do a system recovery through my domain hoster blue host, after this all my plugins went away and i had no success installing new ones. i always get this error message.

    Downloading install package from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/contact-form-maker.1.5.1.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Could not create directory. /home2/uspcsus/public_html/a1qualityhomeinspection/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-maker/

    Plugin install failed.

if there is anyway i can fix this by staying in blue host and not having to do ftp i would very appreciate any help.

have you discussed with your hosting provider as to why this issue statrted after “recovery through” them.

they usually do not offer help with wordpress as its not their field they say, but i should give that a go. thank you for your reply

Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

hi thank you for your reply, sorry but im kind of new with editing things, would i go to editor in the appearance section to change that?

No – you need to use FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
