• I upgraded to v2.6.1 which is available now. I immediately noticed two unexpected and undesirable side effects:

    1) The setting for the Front Page was changed from what it had been (a static page) to the default value (latest posts). This one’s easy to fix — I just set it back to the static page I wanted.

    2) The slider disappeared from the front page — even though the setting for the Select Front Page Slider was still pointing to the slider I had created. I have yet to figure out how to get this to work again. I had created several sliders on this site — NONE of them will now display on the front page, no matter what value I set the Select Front Page Slider field to. One exception: The Demo slider WILL display on the front page if I select that value.

    HELP!

  • linkomatic,

I had the same problem, but both were easily fixed when I did the following:

I deleted both my cache, AND my expired cache history; signed out of my admin panel; re-opened my admin panel; and then reset my chosen options in the Theme Customizer.

See if this works for you.

I tried this, but it had no effect. Only the Demo slider will display on the front page. None of the sliders I previously created will display. And I just tried it with a new slider I created after applying the theme upgrade — same result.

Nikeo: I had just demo-ed the site to the customer before the upgrade, and now it is seriously broken. The project I am working on now is DEAD as long as this persists. So I’m hoping — really hard — that you can fix this problem ASAP. Thanks.

fyi, I just DOWN-graded the site back to v2.1.4, and it resolved this problem — the front page will now display any of the sliders I created. So, the “emergency” is over. But I would suggest NOT officially releasing 2.6.1 until this problem is troubleshot and resolved.

    Hi guys,
The issue is identified and fixed, v2.1.7 coming in a few minutes.
    Many thanks for the feedback!

    Hi linkomatic,
I made this bug my number one priority and just released a new version in the repository : http://wordpress.org/themes/customizr/developers/
    Hope this helps,
    Nicolas.

Thanks, Nikeo, This solved the worse problem (the inability to display anything but the Demo slider), which is great. But the other problem happened again — when I upgraded, the Front Page setting was switched back to “Your latest posts”, so I had to manually reset it back to “A static page” again. However, I’m not going to lose sleep over that one. ;0)

p.s. — Can you tell I used to test software??? ;0)

    Great!
The switch back “to your latests posts” on activation will be fixed in the future release.

Good work linkomatic : I can definitely see you have serious tests skills! 🙂
