I’m not quite sure what I should be looking for to fix this RSS issue. I read through the suggestions on w3.org can’t quite figure out what is wrong and/or what I can do in WP to fix what is happening…

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 509 at column 31: Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding !
    Bytes: 0x08 0x45 0x6D 0x6F
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

Per w3.org’s validator, here is line 509:

Click here to view the embedded video.

    The complete results: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgaryploski.com%2Ffeed

    Sorry

    This feed does not validate.
line 512, column 179: XML parsing error: <unknown>:512:179: not well-formed (invalid token) [help]
… nsibilities of a producer and director? Emotions that are normally felt …
    ^
In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.
line 22, column 61: Image not in required format [help]

http://garyploski.com/wp-content/mbp-favicon/favicon.ico</url>
    ^
line 49, column 0: content:encoded should not contain iframe tag (2 occurrences) [help]

<iframe width=”500″ height=”375″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/Zp6hNf

    Many thanks for suggestions/input.

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins deactivated?

    (@garyploski)

I have not tried that. Another piece I forgot to include is that the feed is working for any tool that already has the URL but I can’t add it to a new RSS tool.

I’ll give your suggestion a try.

With Twenty Twelve active and all plugins deactivated this was the result.

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 475 at column 25: Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding !

Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    Line 475:

Can we see the site using the default Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins deactivated?

    Thread Starter garyploski

    (@garyploski)

Sure thing. I will make it available that way until 6:15 pm eastern.

It is now activated with Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins deactivated.

Noting the time, I can leave it a bit longer but please let me know as soon as you’ve had a look.

    Many thanks, esmi.

What happens if you set post 3858 (“Facebook Pages Admin Roles & Scheduling Posts, Engagio, Actor turned Director…”) back to draft status?

    Thread Starter garyploski

    (@garyploski)

Hmm. With that page set to Draft…

I think you edited the wrong Post. It’s the one at http://garyploski.com/facebook-pages-admin-roles-scheduling-posts-engagio-actor-turned-director-breakfast-smoothie-time-with-gp

Sorry – should have given you the exact url earlier.

    (@garyploski)

I think you hit the nail on the head.

    http://garyploski.com/feed looks much better.

Did you copy content in from somewhere else when you created that problem Post? I think it’s an issue with the actual text content of the Post that’s breaking the feed.

    Thread Starter garyploski

    (@garyploski)

    Many thanks!

Now the curious question is, what is up with that post.

It uses the exact same formatting as the others in that series. The only obvious difference I see is the length of the title.

    Thread Starter garyploski

    (@garyploski)

Fortunately, it’s something I can dig into later on thanks to your help. =)

I’ll post an update later tonight and mark this as resolved then.

I’d be really interested to see what the issue is. The feed validator isn’t much help.
