Using duplicator after excluding /wp-content/uploads;

I am moving a site using Duplicator but the site contains quite a lot of media files and to create the package I have excluded the /wp-content/uploads folder from the package.

This worked and I was quickly able to create a package.

I just want to check how I proceed…

Do I continue with Duplicator in the normal way and recreate the site on the new server and THEN use FTP or something to upload the contents of the excluded wp-content/uploads folder to the (presumably empty) wp-content/uploads folder on the new site?

I have used Duplicator successfully several times previously – but not with this exclusion activated.
