Adding infinite scroll to June theme.

I am using the June theme and would like to try adding infinite scroll to it. I have tried following the instructions on the jetpack page but I don’t completely understand what I am doing. I have added the code to functions and enabled it but when I scroll to the bottom of the page I show the ajax loader and then nothing happens. I still see the wp-page navi instead.
