I would like to switch to Pretty Links as my main jump script plugin, but according to a test I just did, Pretty Links doesn’t appear to put nofollow tags even when I select that option. When I look at the source code of a page that has Pretty Links in itself, I don’t see nofollow tags around such links.

For instance, this is a test post

    http://www.g510keyboard.net/2012-12/why-the-world-wont-end-in-2012/

that contains the following Pretty link:

    http://www.g510keyboard.net/recommends/astronomy

However, when I look in the source code for that page I don’t see Pretty link is putting nofollow tags around its links.

Truth be told, Ninja Affiliate plugin (which I used so far) also has the same problem.

Could someone please help me to make this work (so that nofollow tags are inserted properly) because it’s important for SEO?

It seems my main blog was recently demoted in Google search results because of my shorter links that are not nofollowed (i.e. because I couldn’t make the plugin automatically put nofollow tags).

The nofollow tags are added in the Header. So they do not need to be in the HTML. However if you wanted to manually place them in the HTML that would be fine, although unnecessary.

Hi, I also have a question regarding nofollow tags, i cant find anything in my header about nofollow from the pretty link plugin. Also openlinkexplorer says my links are all follow (i use open link explorer for all outbound links)

Can you submit a sample link for me? It’s not in the <html> header of the page, but rather in the HTTP header during the redirect.

I have the same trouble… I set to nofollow my Pretty Links, but when I search all my indexed pages on Google doing (site:www.mydomain.com) has indexed in crawlers all my pretty links…

This is an older article, but since then search engines have gone away from really caring or obeying nofollow: http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2067884/Google-Changes-Course-on-Nofollow
