The site in question is: comparehearingaidprices.org

I’ve done everything I can think of to eliminate this plugin and yet I’m still seeing the “Maintenance Mode On” message when I go to any page of my site.

    I’ve done the following:

    * Deleted the plugin

    * Installed WP Super Cache and cleared the cache

    * Cleared all history on two different computers

    * Viewed the in various browsers and two different computers

How can I regain access to my site?

    Thank you

Hoping to flush all memory of the old “UnderConstruction” plugin, I installed and activated the “WP Maintenance Mode” plugin. After doing so, the displayed Maintenance Mode text appeared on my site pages as expected.

I then deactivated the “WP Maintenance Mode” plugin and viewed my site to find the “UnderConstruction” plugin text back in place!

How can I rid myself of this virus-like plugin?? Any ideas how to clear it completely from my system?

I updated the “under construction” plug in after the error on line 135. As reported earlier (under a different topic), after updates to other plugins, I get the following error message:

    Update Plugins

Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.

After plugins are updated, I check the splash page and is says “Briefly unavailable …”, so the “[url … is coming soon]” page is MIA.

A quick check of the wordpress root reveals that the “.maintenance” file is left in the root directory. Deleted the “.maintenance” file and everything is working hunky dory.

So it’s possible the “under construction” plug in isn’t allowing updates to complete the last step (deleting the “.maintenance” file on the wordpress site’s root folder).

I don’t have this plugin installed on other wordpress sites I’m running. And don’t have any plugin update problems. Since the problem site is the only one running “under construction” plugin, this has got to be some sort of WAD failure.

    Thoughts?

I’m not sure am having the same issue.
My site looks ok on the landing page & one other but when you click on the blog is shows the “Maintenance Mode” message I thought was taken off 6 weeks ago.
to make things even more confusing if you hit refresh the blog is displayed like it should be.
I have deleted the maintenance mode plug-in but problem remains.
dose anyone know what is causing this problem & how to fix it?
