So, I went to move my site from the subdirectory where I was building it and stupidly forgot to update the URL before moving all the files via FTP.

Yes, I even moved htaccess and index.php then deleted the subdirectory folder afterwards. Clearly I have lost my mind!

Needless to say, site has disappeared, I can’t get in to do anything!

I created a subdirectory folder and moved everything back into it, then added the two domain name lines of coding into config.php file but still I get 404.

Can anyone help? I’m having a small freak out and wishing I hadn’t touched anything now!

    Thanks.

Okay – all fixed! If anyone else does this (although I’m sure no-one else is as stupid!) here’s what you do:

Login in to the mySQL database via phpMyAdmin and select your database. Click on wp_options and then update your domain name and home domain name (on second page) to what it should be.

    Then all should work!

Actually was about to do this myself lol thanks for the heads up.

BTW thestealhyfox you are super pretty :), [Inappropriate comment moderated – Please don’t use these forums to solicit relationships]

Ha ha – follow this http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory and you’ll be fine.

The second part – thank you 🙂 something new for a WP forum, haha.
