Updating Style Changes Not Showing Straight Away

    Hi,

    I have been making quite a few changes to our site (adding contact form to widget area/backgrounds colours) but when I refresh the main page, the changes don’t display.

    If I choose the ‘Customise’ button whereby I can change certain areas of my theme (background/header/Tag Lines/Colours etc) all the changes seem to have taken affect. Any idea as to why any changes I make are not being applied straight away?

    I don’t have any caching plugins activated.

    Have you asked your hosts if they are using any caching? What about your ISP?

    Does your hosting company use caching on their servers? Are you clearing your browser cache (repeatedly if necessary)?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick replies. I have cleared my browsers cache multiple times and it still takes about 30 mins for changes to appear. When viewing on another PC, the issue remains.

    I’ll contact Dreamhost to see if there is caching going on on their end.

    Marking as resolved as hosing company isn’t doing anything on their end, which points the cause back to me and caching issues with browser.

    TheGift73 – Are you using Google PageSpeed by any chance?

    Hi Ipstenu,

    I’ve never used that tool before. I usually check Google Webmasters Tools/Analytics to see if there are any issues relating to that. I had a reply from DH support saying that there was nothing on their end that would cause the issue. Strangely I didn’t notice the issue happening today, so hoping it was just one of those things.

    PageSpeed is something you set on your panel 🙂 Its right by where you pick your PHP flavor.
