Error 404 – Page not found! when trying to edit a page

    hi all

    i have a little problem.

    i have a site http://www.mypouch.co.uk which is working fine but when i login to the WordPress admin dashboard and try to edit a page it takes me to a Error 404 – Page not found! page not the edit page which i normally get. also some times when i click on “pages” tab on the left of the dashboard it also take to the Error 404 – Page not found! page. but not all the time.

    even if i try to the get there via the edit tab in the page it does the same thing.

    can any one help
    i must add i am a bit new to WordPress.

    404 indicates failure to communicate with the server.
    – it could be configuration issue
    – it could be memory issue
    – it could be permalinks issue, review this: How to fix 404 error when using Pretty Permalinks? – it could be optimization issue
    – it could be a conflict with plugin: try resetting the plugin folder – it could be a conflict with theme: try switching to the default theme for a moment via FTP and see if that resolves the issue.
    – check for .htaccess file presence and check if the default wordpress mod-rewrite code is there or not. There are times when .htaccess file is not writeable or gotten deleted
    – Check the server error log for your hosting account. Ask your hosting provider for assistance to locate them.

    thank you for the advise.
    i think it may be theme as when i switch to the default theme (Twenty Twelve) it works ok.

    my theme is mystile. what can i do about this as i like my theme and do not what to change it?????

    I’m sorry but as you are using a non-WPORG theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developers – paid or otherwise. We only support themes downloaded from wordpress.org here. Try http://www.woothemes.com/support/ instead.

    the problem with a free theme from woothemes is that you dont get any support.

    Sorry but the wordpress.org support forums are meant for the core application, themes and plugins that are distributed on wordpress.org. We do not support themes downloaded from elsewhere.
