Dropdown Menu?
-
Hi,
How do you create a dropdown menu that lists the post categories?
I have tried creating a Page / Parent page, and playing around the Menu a bit, but to no avail.
Is a widget needed? Any one that works the best with this theme?
Thanks!

You’ll need to create a custom menu – see:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen
Then you can add a category menu item there.
I created one – but it’s not showing up on the site??
You’ll need to provide a link to the issue.
I moved the Categories Menu Widget into the sidebar as well, but still not showing up.
Thanks!
This is my site : http://www.tzjakab.com/
You don’t need a widget if you want a category menu in the regular menu – just create a custom Menu and add the category page(s) to it.
Have you created a custom Menu?
Yes, this was the first thing I tried under Appearance / Menu. It does not show up.
I would like to create a menu essentially identical to this : http://sharongolod.com/
All you need to do is under appearance>menus create under Custom Link, in the URL write # and label it Dropdown, add it to the menu. Then add the categories to the menu and simply move them under the dropdown (once you are done with this you can change the name of the dropdown to portfolio, work, etc.) Once you have them underneath simply move them a little to the right but still under this custom link.
Hope this works!

Worked – thank you!
Also to note; Theme Locations must be changed to read the Menu you have just chosen.
