• I’m currently in Peru and I have a problem with keyword hyperlinks that I did not create. I have no adware plug-ins. It began here recently, a couple of months after creating my wordpress site. The first time the word “cancer” appears on each page, it is linked to an outside website. Since cancer is the subject of my website, this link is on almost every page. I don’t understand it. I have no plug-in for this. I’m told by someone that it happens automatically in Peru.

Can someone tell me if you also see the hyperlink in the above paragraph? In this post, the word cancer in quotes above has also hyperlinked to the same outside website. I didn’t create this link. Maybe this happened because I’m in a wordpress URL here in the forum. As a test, I sent an email message to myself with the word cancer. It did not hyperlink. Can someone please tell me if they also see a hyperlink in the first paragraph? (cancer in quotes in above paragraph) Maybe it only happens on my computer, I don’t know. Thanks.

  • If you are running a cpanel website it might be because you used one of the free built-in services to improve SEO. Did you do that?

One of them adds in-text advertisements to your pages. I don’t remember the name, but I had it too a few years ago.

No, I’ve installed nothing like that.

Maybe it has nothing to do with wordpress specifically now. I noticed that I’m getting the link on any URL the first time the word “cancer” appears in normal text on the page.

I asked the advice of someone else, and he’s in the US and says he doesn’t see the links on my wordpress site. So that’s my only real concern.
