Try re-saving the WordPress permalinks.
Just go to Settings->Permalinks and click save.

thanks Peter – i tried that just now – I didnt change any settings I just hit Save Changes again but I get the same result. Should I change it to another option and back again? Am I likely to break anything doing that?
Im using the Post Name option.
If you switch back and forth between two settings, saving in between, it should be fine. If it’s a live site, I recommend doing the switch quickly 🙂

thanks for your suggestions Peter. Still no go. I just installed on another WP site to test and I get the same result. I might be missing a step somewhere?
Oh wait, on the archive page of the author, that’s what you are trying to pull up, your theme probably only shows posts from the author, not the custom posts. Events Manager events are custom posts, so they won’t show up in the archive.

works for me, how about trying this steps just to narrow down the problem?
– deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

Switched to 2012 theme and the line disappears completely.

maybe its just a WP line and not a EM line?
EM doesn’t create that line, EM creates posts, your theme creates the page including the by-line for posts.
Just confirm what Peter said, it’s theme issue rather than an EM issue. You probably need to edit your theme stylesheet file.
