RSS Feed Validation issue

    Ok, so when I first started my podcast, the feed
    http://pressypodcast.com/?feed=podcast worked and validated wonderfully, and was accepted into ITunes as well.

    3 weeks later, other feed catchers were having issues (tested on my cell phone, my husbands cell phone, and friends of ours who listen to the podcast using varying feed catchers such as Zune, Doggcatcher etc to subscribe via RSS)

    Then ITunes never showed the 3rd episode either, only the first two.

    We tore the entire site down because we couldn’t get the feed to validate anymore, reinstalled WordPress, along with this Plugin (used it first time as well).

    I have uploaded the 1st 3 episodes again, and the feed still does not validate.

    Errors are as listed:

    Server returned HTTP Error 404: Not Found

    HTTP error with content that looks like a feed

    Is there a setting somewhere along the way that has caused these issues with the feed? It once validated, we never changed anything only continued to upload weekly episodes, and then it broke.

    Any help is appreciated 🙂

    A different Feed Validator (first I used feedvalidator.org)
    For the 2nd option I used to validate: http://tools.forret.com/podcast/validator.php

    The error is listed as this:

    HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

    Well, it seems we have fixed the HTTP Error… mostly by trial and error.

    It seems the issue was that the feed couldn’t be validated because there were no regular Blog posts on the WordPress, only Podcast entries.

    After doing a test Blog post and publishing it, the feed for the podcast validated.

    How odd!

    I’m glad you got this sorted out 🙂

    The problem you experienced here is actually due to a bug in WordPress that marks all feeds as 404s when there are no blog posts on the site. I have tried to circumvent the issue in this plugin, but it doesn’t always work. It’s a frustrating problem and one that will hopefully be sorted out in future WordPress versions.

    Hugh, My Feed is getting rejected and I can’t find in the plugin where the extra spaces are coming from.
