Jetpack not sending subscriptions when Draft is published

    We have been using Jetpack for a while and it has been sending out subscription emails whenever a new post is published.

    Today I noticed that a post was published, but I didnt receive any email notification. I asked another subscriber and he confirmed he also didn’t receive the email.

    In this case, the post was saved as a draft first. The next day the post was edited and set to Published. Is Jetpack supposed to send email notifications in this case?

    I am using the WP-SMTP plugin and it can send a test email successfully.

    (Another change I made was to add the APC module to PHP, but I think this is unrelated to the problem.)

    Correction: I am using the “Configure SMTP” plugin and using it to send email via a gmail account.

    Re-Correction: OK I now see that the subscriptions are always sent by jetpack/wordpress.com not my smtp plugin. So the problem must lie completely with jetpack or wordpress.com

    I have the same problem. The email subscribers were not notified of my new post when I published it from Draft. However, it did work for the last two posts — subscribers were notified and those posts were also saved as Drafts first. Please help me, too.

    I have given up and uninstalled Jetpack, switched to Subscribe2 plugin.

    It took about 2 hours to switch but I think it was worth it. Subscribe2 is working very reliably, and it also offers more advanced features. Jetpack is quite heavy, so if you are only using one or two features then I think it is better to use separate and lighter plugins instead. Requests required to load a webpage reduced from 38 to 29, speed reduction of about 20%.
