This theme looks bad on IE 8. How do I make it look normal?

Check whether the issue persists on the theme’s demo website. If it does, let us know what specifically you mean by “bad”. Otherwise try deactivating plugins to explore whether any could be responsible.

It looks good on Firefox & Chrome.

The fact is simply that IE < 9 doesn’t support border-radius, so it can’t show the rounded corners while modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE >= 9 and so on) can.
