Thank you for your interest in the plugin and for this question. When I released the first version back in August 2012 I posted this item in the FAQ:

    Are other language versions available?

Not at this time; I don’t have working knowledge of anything but English. If you’d like to volunteer to produce another version, I’ll rework the code to internationalize it and work with you to localize it.

Your inquiry is the first response I have had on this topic; thank you!

As you can tell from the Changelog, I’ve been busy adding features to the plugin ever since the initial release. So far, I have not worked on internationalization or the creation of the .po and .mo files because the User Interface is still changing with each release. Also, much of the language-specific text is in template files ( the tpls subdirectory) and I have not thought through an approach for multiple language versions of the templates.

I have two more releases planned, with more UI changes. After that I will have a serious look at internationalization. I will let you know when that’s underway and if you’re still interested and able to work on translating the plugin I will work with you to make it happen.

Thanks for your understanding and for your patience.

I have begun the localization process required to support internationalization. If you can help prepare “.po” files for languages other than English, please send me your e-mail address from the “Contact Us” page at our web site:

I have completed the internationalization work and am doing my final testing before releasing it. If you can help prepare “.po” files for languages other than English, please send me your e-mail address using the link in my earlier post. Thank you!

I have released MLA version 1.70, which includes the internationalized code, the Portable Object Template (/languages/en_US.pot) file and the Internationalization Guide (/languages/MLA Internationalization Guide.pdf). That should be everything you need to get started. I would be happy to help in any way I can, and I welcome any feedback on the source texts or any other aspect of the work.

I am marking this issue resolved, but please update it with any questions, problems or suggestions you have. Thanks again for your interest in the plugin.
