• Making some progress….now the sign up form shows up….but ONLY on the “Blog” page and the text from blog posts lays over it.

    I was hoping to have this display on our “Home”, “About”, “Follow Us”, “Contact Us” and “Blog” pages next to our current content.

    If our previous developer edited HTML would this be causing the issue? The widget is installed and dragged to the main sidebar. What can I check if it needs a correction?

    At the least to not have the blog over lap the form?

  • Hey there,

    In pulling up the URL on my end, I’m not seeing any content that’s currently live on the site, so it’s possible that it may have been taken down, or that the host is temporarily down. I’ll be sure to check back in a day or two to check up on the issue, and see if the blog is back up and running.

    To answer your questions, ultimately it depends on what HTML/CSS your developer edited. It is possible that editing that code could cause the strange formatting you’re seeing, so it’s something I’d be happy to look at the page’s CSS to try and help and determine.

    As far as what to check, if you’re familiar with a too like Firebug, you can actually identify what CSS code is active on what elements on your page. In doing so, you can then begin to make adjustments to your style code to help accommodate the layout that you’re looking to accomplish (in this case, adjusting the elements so they don’t overlap each other in the style code).

    http://visualmarketingpartners.org/blog-2/ Sorry I spelled the name incorrectly

    This is the only page the form is showing up on

    Hey there,

    Unfortunately, I’m not seeing a signup form on that URL that you provided. Can you try accessing that URL again and confirming that you’re currently seeing a sign up form there?

    Also, can you provide me with details on what editing options you have available on this blog page?

    If you’re generating this page’s content as a standard WordPress page, you should be able to simply add the plugin’s shortcode to the content of this page. If you haven’t done so already, would you be able to insert this shortcode so that we can see what the output looks like?

    The wordpress widget button, I’ve now dragged into the footer tool bar. So you can now see it at the bottom of every page.

    I wanted it to display on the main sidebar under our “search function.” But if I drag it to the main sidebar it only displays on the blog.

    Hey there,

    If you’re not able to add the signup form widget to an area under the search bar, the alternative would be to adding the shortcode or php snippet. Can you clarify what editing capability you have for that area of your theme? If it’s not its own widget area, do you have WSYWIG access to that region? Otherwise, the other option would be to edit the actual code of the layout and add the php shortcode:

    <?php mailchimpSF_signup_form(); ?>

    Look forward to hearing back!
