I am trying to create a menu structure which only displays the current page’s sibling pages and any children. Or if viewing a child page, that it displays the parent, it’s siblings, and the child page’s siblings.
Basically always two levels deep if two levels exist – and only ones on the same branch

From what I can tell your plugin looks great, but doesn’t quite do what I am after – although it looks like it has the fundamentals.

  • Exactly the same issue.

Anyone able to solve this please?

    thanks

Anybody able to solve this please?

For everyone looking to do this, I achieved the above “siblings and children” result with these settings:

    • Hierarchy: Only related sub-items
    • Starting depth: 1
    • Unlimited depth
    • Display all
    • Filter: None
    • Include parents: unchecked
    • Post related parents: unchecked

I was able to do it with rbird’s tips except I picked starting depth: 0.

rbird, quite helpful and saved me continuing to cobble together code that would accomplish this.

I’d tried this plug in a couple of circumstances and could never figure out from the sparse documentation how to get it to behave. The selections are not very intuitive for folks who don’t know the ins and outs of WordPress menu code.
