This plugin is a great idea. Please reference my table here poweranddata.info/knowledge-center/terminology/.

Just loaded your latest version, ColumnFilterWidgets 1.4 and added to the Shortcode on the page with table as directed. It looks like this now: [table id=1 datatables_columnfilter=true datatables_columnfilterwidgets=true datatables_columnfilterwidgets_exclude_columns=2 row_order="sort" row_order_sort_column="A" row_order_sort_direction="ASCE"/]. Encountered two issues I could use your help with.

    1. While the sorting of the table itself is not case sensitive, the dropdown list appears to be as all words (terms) that start with a capital letter are put at the top.

    2. Upon selecting a term, the table filters to zero instead of the term, indicating ‘No Matching Records’ in the table and ‘Showing 0 to 0 of 0 entries’ below the table. It also posts the selected word just below the dropdown box. On my site you need to go through the selection process several times before you see the words because the first few are hidden behind the Search box.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

as it seems, the problem here is the HTML code in the cells of the first column (the <span>). That’s causing trouble with the filtering.
I suggest to create a new extra first column) which has the same content as the current first column, but without the HTML.
You can then tell DataTables to hide that column, and the ColumnFilterWidgets Extension to only show that drop down.

About 1: Yes, that could be possible. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to change that 🙁

About 2: Good question again… This seems to be related to the CSS of the ColumnFilterWidgets and your theme’s CSS, but I can’t find a fix right now…

    Regards,
    Tobias
