multisite login?

I read through the faq on multisite setup and followed the directions exactly as specified. I am guessing that most of the information there is VERY OLD as it is referencing version .21 which is quite old.

The problem I am having is that my wp-signup.php page does NOT show facebook options at all. Even though I have the settings checked to allow registration, I don’t see a way to register via facebook when using multisite.

I do see that on the login screen, there is a facebook button, however when clicked it takes me back to the registration page with no facebook option.

*One thing I do see is in reading the source, the facebook button is trying to go to facebook, but references my subdomain url and not my primary blog url (which I setup in the application as my base url).

So, is it yet possible to use sfc with multisite for registration?

If not, is there another suggestion that might work, that does NOT use a 3rd party?
*I hate sending any info to an untrusted 3rd party website for validation or whatever they are doing.
