    I can’t get into my admin panel. Over the past few days, when I would get to the login page, it was slow but it got there. Today, I have either been getting the message from my browser (both Safari & firefox), that the server may be busy and to try again. For a one hour period this afternoon, I was able to get in. For the past 3 hours, I haven’t been able to get in at all. If I put in the url in the browser, after a long wait it takes me to the login screen, when I hit login the page goes blank.

    I am getting a bit frantic as I am still relatively new to this, and I need to get into my site. Any help will be very welcome. Thanks!

    Have you contacted your hosts about this? It could well be a server/hosting issue.

    I haven’t contact my host because I can load my website. Also, I discovered that I can go to my website, click on a post, and get into the admin by “editing” the post. But I can’t live with that as a work around. Any ideas?

    I’d still suggest contacting your hosts in case they have problems on that server. In the meantime try

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Thanks, esmi. I just tried calling tech support at my host, per your suggestion. I got a recorded message on the tech support line saying all tech are busy and it hung up. Maybe that’s a sign!

    In response, I just tried again, and I was able to get in this time. However, it seemed “jumpy”. Maybe there is something wrong at the server.

    Thank you for your suggestions. Before I try or get someone more technically astute than I to try your suggestions, I will wait a bit to see if it’s resolved. Thanks again.

    Maybe that’s a sign!

    It could well be. If they are having problems, the techs could literally be run off their feet trying to fix it.
