Support » Plugins » Error Message : Incompatible Archive.

  • I’m attempting to clone a live website from my webhost to localhost on my laptop.

I am running Xamp on Windows 7 and have installed WP 3.5.1

From the webhost I created the backup successfully but the process did generate a number of warnings:

PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/waterway/public_html/alrewasplan.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/wp-clone-by-wp-academy/lib/functions.php on line 448

    .

However, as I had the backup I attempted to ‘restore’ it on my laptop’s localhost. This ran for a minute or two then collapsed with an error and a dialog that read:

The plugin encountered an error while extracting the zip file using WP’s zip file extractor, the following error message was returned:’Incompatible archive’ Temporary files created in C:/xampp/htdocs/localwp/wp-content/wpclone-temp will be deleted.

    Can you help?

    Regards

As a further experiment I decided to test the same backup file by
‘restoring’ it into a new folder on my webhost in a folder in which I had installed WP 3.5.1 and WP_Clone.

The restoration completed without any error messages.

This, of course, indicates that the failure to use the backup to create a localhost on my laptop is probably related to the Xamp installation. I note that Xamp is not recommended for Windows 7 so will try an alternate and report back.
