Thumbnail Crops

I’d like to be able to use this but it automatically crops my thumbnails from the center out. I’ve even tried to crop using WP’s default media cropping tools but to no avail. Even when the image’s crop has been altered to show a more favorable crop, Simple Gallery continues to crop images from the center out. This many times cuts off heads, headlines, etc. Is there a way for this plugin to honor my thumbnail crop settings?
