    try and change this line:

    if ( $header_image ) :

    to (if you have the posts page on the front):

    if ( is_home() && $header_image ) :

    or to (if you have a static front page):

    if ( is_front_page() && $header_image ) :

    what theme are you using?

    try and change this section ( a few lines from the end of the code):

    <img src="<?php header_image(); ?>" height="<?php echo get_custom_header()->height; ?>" width="<?php echo get_custom_header()->width; ?>" alt="" class="size-full" />

    to:

    <?php endif; ?>

    Thanks so much for that, it works!
    Your a star.
    I am using the Personal Trainer theme by Nu Studio.
    I am new at this and thought it was very user friendly.
    Now I am trying to work out how to put some extra widgets in the footer area.
    That seems even more complicated than what you have just helped me with.
    Thanks again.
