How to import excel graph into WordPress post

    As in the title, I have been searching the forum and wordpress.com support as well but cannot seem to find the solution to this.

    I’d like to know how to embed Excel charts into a WordPress post.

    I have followed these instructions (these are the latest instructions)

    I have uploaded an Excel doc, made my graph, clicked shared, copied the embed iframe code into HTML viewer and then upon updating the post (or publishing it in private), I haven’t been able to view the graph in the post. The iframe code does not revert to short code as in the instructions.

    My problem is similar to that of: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-get-shortcode-for-excel-skydrive-embed-code

    If the code cannot revert to short code any more it means that the instructions may now be outdated.

    I know I could generate shortcodes from plugins but if using different computers etc this seems like a long winded solution. Preferably, I would like a way to embed graphs without the need to install anything.

    Does anyone know a workaround?

    I realise that but thought the instructions might be similar. Seeing as I could not find instructions in this support forum I looked at .com as well.

    And yes before you ask. The website I am having trouble with is a self-hosted wordpress.org site.

    In the coming weeks I would like to upload an excel chart to the company blog each week and having the ability to post an excel chart would be most useful.

    There are a few things that are unclear:

    I haven’t been able to view the graph in the post.

    Could you share the embed code you grabbed here and a post link…please use a test example spreadsheet and post if needed. It is quite difficult to troubleshoot when we cannot see the issue first hand.

    The iframe code does not revert to short code as in the instructions.

    Where in the instructions does it note that a embedded iframe would convert to a shortcode?

    Note, I have tested the excel web app in current version of WP and I was able so share and embed my public spreadsheet and further customize the embed code…
