Support » Plugin: Copyright Proof » Negative rating due to copyprove

    Hi guys,

    just another question:

    It’s crazy with Digiprove we do save the owners copyrights, what is seen very positive!
    But when I check my website on German
    http://www.seittest.de
    or
    http://www.seitwert.de
    They do complain and put us down in rating. They say:

    “Teile des Inhalts sind nicht sichtbar. Die Seite setzt unsichere Technologien ein.”
    ==>> means: “Parts of the content is invisible. The website uses unsave technology”.

    Any suggestion to solve this issue??

    Thanks!

    Bye, Petra

    Hi Petra,

    We performed some tests using http://www.seittest.de and your website content. This warning is probably caused by the use of css “display:none” statement that renders parts of html invisible. This practice is extremely widespread, and is present in your pages through the use of Facebook plugins and jquery (probably lots of other reasons as well).

    However it did not appear that Digiprove was causing this error but in fact some of those other plugins, and our tests seemed to confirm this. How did you decide that Digiprove was causing this warning message?

    The other part you mention “Die Seite setzt unsichere Technologien ein” – we did not see this warning. Again have you established that this is connected to Digiprove?

    Hi Gerry,

    sorry for my late reply, I have a bad cold and took one day off yesterday.
    Please apologize, if I write something strange for your feeling, but I started learning WP only 6 month ago… know more or less nothing about programming.

    In my custom CSS the only “display: none” I have is:
    .tags {display: none;}
    and
    #comments .avatar { display: none; }

    In the stylesheet.css I find following for which I don’t know the effect:
    .hide {display: none;}
    #comments .pingbacks li.pingback .reply { display:none; }

    This I know for what it is (stylesheet), but perhaps causes the problem (I don’t know):
    #logo .site-title, #logo .site-description { font-family:arial,serif; color: #fff200; display:none; }
    #loopedSlider .slides { min-height:200px; position:absolute; top:0; left:0; display:none; }
    .wdqs-inline { display:none !important; }

    I checked with Strg+F.

    For your question, if this really comes from your plugin, well, I have more removed: (SEO Yoast = negavtive rating “intensive usage of SEO” and unfortunately SlimStat as it’s not clear if it’s in compliance with German law.
    Therefore I have new wpSEO, Statify and Cachify (all from Sergej Müller who has complete good recommendation).
    And quite new I have Google only Analytics for WordPress. But I can’t imagine that this is the reason.

    I just checked the site again, you are right the “Die Seite setzt unsichere Technologien ein” is away now! 🙂

    So one final question remains: why they do write “Parts of the content is invisible.”??

    I also have deactivated the plugins from Sergej Müller, but it remains the same.

    All the best,
    Petra

    Hi Petra,

    Really you are wasting your time trying to eliminate the “Teile des Inhalts sind nicht sichtbar” warning. The “display:none” statements are very widely used by modern web-sites and by proven javascript libraries like jQuery. I do not understand why it is being reported as a negative by http://www.seittest.de. I tried validating http://www.google.de and it fails this test too!

    When we looked at the HTML on your web-pages we saw lots of “display:none” in element-level style statements. None of these came from our plugin.

    If you want to verify that, just de-activate our plugin and try the test again. Your site will still fail this test. But if I were you I’d just forget about it.

    Dear Gerry,

    thanks for your clear words. I just want to make all in the right way…
    and as I’m no programming expert I sometimes feel unsave with thinks I don’t understand.

    But at this point:
    Thanks VERY much for your great and quick support!!! That’s really exceptional!
    We would love to have such a support in other issues.
    Do you also offer help (e.g. with donation) in issues apart from your plugin?
