How to stop having comments on wordpress and comment activation emails?

    Like the title says, i would like to know how i can stop having the comments on wordpress, as well as the activation emails.

    Stop comments – go to Settings > Discussion > Default article settings – make sure that the following is not checked “Allow people to post comments on new articles”

    As for the activation emails, that’s default if your registration is open. There’s no free plugin which disables activation emails for WP at this time. There’s a premium plugin that does what you need http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/remove-email-verification-from-signup/

    Found “E-mail me whenever”, i think that will work.
