    Hi Guys

Help needed, I am planning to start designing basic websites for other people using WordPress, does anybody on here do this? the idea is do design, set-up domain and hosting for them, show them how to change anything they might want to, wording etc. Finished!
My question is, if I do this what do I do about the plugin and theme updates? If the plugins are not updated the site may not work, any help greatly appreciated, thanks

    Martin

  • Lots of people around here do that – and there are different ways to handle what you are asking about. You can “maintain” sites for clients or turn the whole thing over to him/her when you are done creating it. It depends on you and the client – what you want to do and what he/she wants and is able to do.

Either way, it’s very important to be very clear about responsibilities/financial terms — using written contracts is smart.

    Thanks WPyogi

And what about the updates if I don’t maintain ?

If you turn the site over to a client, certainly make sure he/she knows what is involved in maintaining a site, but it’s then his/her problem… Be clear, get it in writing…it’s no different from any other “service” agreement.
