I have been having trouble with getting jQuery sliders to display in IE8, Windows XP. I started off with AgentPress (Genesis child theme) and Soliloquy (paid version). I’ve turned off all plugins but the slider, tried Genesis Responsive Slider, Responsive Slider, WP-Cycle, and Meta Slider, switched to Twenty Eleven and Twenty Twelve, even tested on two other WordPress installs. The images will not load in IE8. The slider works for me on Vista/IE9, but someone else told me the images didn’t load when they viewed the site with Win7/IE9.

If there’s a jQuery conflict, I haven’t been able to pinpoint it. Like I said the issue exists with no plugins loaded but the slider.

    Here’s the site I’m working on: http://www.jamahost.com/makeithappen

I’m pulling my hair out on this. Can anyone give me any insight into this? Thanks in advance!

  • Your best bet is http://www.studiopress.com directly.

Umm…the problem existed in 2011 and 2012 as well. Anyway, I figured it out. It was the images themselves. I was using the same 4 images to make my test sliders and they were saved improperly. They were derived from CYMK and I didn’t catch that and had to resave them as RGB and reupload the. Problem solved. Now I know to just use the “Save for Web & Other Devices” in Photoshop.
