Server Load?

    How much of a server load does Liveblog add? I’m watching my apache server access log, and it seems that I’m registering a request every 10 seconds from each browser. I have three browsers open right now, two I’m logged in as the admin/author, and one I’m just a regular person looking at the Liveblog post. Is Liveblog going to scale if I have 100 people following the event? 500 people? How can I test the server load? Should I enable a WP cache (e.g. wp-super-cache) of some sort? Thanks, Mike

    Yep, it can be a pretty intensive plugin if you get a lot of traffic as each user will do an ajax request every 10s (or more or less depending on how frequently you set the refresh interval; on WP.com, we set it to 3s).

    Caching will go long way to help you scale this.

    The event went well, with no noticeable problems. According to my apache logs, we had around 200 people watching the liveblog. I was posting from Safari on my iPad.     Where do you set the refresh interval?
