The version of WP my blog was running was 2.2. I followed the instructions like I’ve done so many times to make backups and copy the new files over. However, this time, when I go to the upgrade.php file, I get a blank page — no action whatsoever.

I’ve looked here for similar posts, but some were either not resolved or the solution did not work for me. I’m using Firefox as I always have during this process.

Now that my blog is down, I’m eager to getting it going again.

    Any suggestions?

Well, I don’t understand it, but here’s what happened since I posted this topic.

I decided to delete the files again and copying everything over. I managed to get to my home page, but when I went to my dashboard I was greeted with a message telling me my database was not current and that I needed to upgrade.

    Huh?

Anyway, after I copied over all the NEW files and clicked on that upgrade link provided on that unexpected page and it said it was already upgraded.

    Again, huh?

Anywho, the footer of my control panel tells me I’m now at v2.2.3, so I’m guessing all is well. And now going to transfer this blog to my new host, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

If anyone has information that might clear up what happened here, I’m sure it would help me and future readers with the same issue. 🙂
