Hey @wizd3m, make sure your excerpts displayed by using the_excerpt()
to show excerpts on the front page. Please let me know if it worked.

Hello Vova, thank you for answering.
I would very much like to give your suggestion a try, but I’m new to CSS (I assume it’s a CSS edit you’re talking about) and am not entirely sure what to do with the_excerpt() Could you maybe guide me?
If it helps, the theme i’m using has a section in the post editor where an excerpt can be included for each post under the custom title “game review”. I have tried this, but again only the words appear, no star ratings on front page.
The theme I’m using also has 3 distinct ways of displaying posts on the front page, namely: the full post (stars appear with this one), a large thumbnail excerpt (no stars on front page), and the small thmubnail excerpt (this is the one I’m using and no stars appear).
I tried looking at the following links regarding what you suggested to try and understand it better, and I THINK i’m starting to, but I’m still not sure where or how to make this edit safely. Also, I have a “custom CSS” plugin installed, as I assume that’s needed.
So yea, could you please be more specific?

Oh, sorry, forgot to include the links I meantioned:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt
http://codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop
Again, I undertand what they are meant to do, I’m just not sure what the actual code should be and where I should use it.
It’s not a part of the CSS, it’s part of you WordPress theme. You need to make sure that your theme is using the_exceprt()
method to output/display the excerpts.
Also feel free to contact me directly via email at [vova AT rating-widget DOT com] because it requires further investigation of your theme and probably not relevant for other readers.
