  • I found a bug in permalink structure… I was using a custom permalink structure based on day/month/year… well I noticed that search engine worked better with year/month/day permalink structure so I changed it… Everything seemed to work OK but 2 things were wrong…

When you have included an own-site-link inside the post excerpt the change of permalink structure is not changed reflecting the new structure so you have to change it manually…

The second bug is related to pingbacks, they are not changed reflecting the new permalink structure…

One third thing, the change in permalink structure should look for own-site-links posted on comments… it would be desirable too.

    Thanks for your attention

  • Best bet would be to open bug reports on trac

    http://trac.wordpress.org

    Details would be helpful.

    1) True, at this time I don’t believe there’s any expectation that all of your old article contents will be parsed and adjusted each time you update Permalinks.

    2) drmikes idea (log it to trac) seems a good way to get the dev conversations going

    3) see 1

Your 1 and 3 seem like plugin territory. As a simple WP user, I definitely can see and appreciate the value. I’m not sure my shared host would appreciate the hit to the server everytime I messed with my Permalinks though!
