Support » Plugin: Media Rename » Can't retitle without renaming

    Hello,

If I go into Edit Media and change the filename to what I want and click Update, it updates the filename as expected. If I then decide to change the title, when I click update, I get this error:

“A file with that name already exists in the containing folder!”

Is there not a way to change just the title for media? I may want to bulk rename a bunch of pictures (filename1, filename2, filename3, etc.) but then edit each title individually (“Flower”, “Tree”, “Clouds”, etc.), but I can’t do that with your plug-in easily. Instead, it looks like I only have two options:

    * Make sure I retitle at the same time as I rename. This means I can’t use the bulk editing because my titles don’t always match my filenames.

    * Change the filename when I update the title and then change the filename back. This adds an extra step to the title update process.

    Is this expected behavior?

Okay, I found a way that this works, but it’s not exactly intuitive. If I update the Title field and press Enter while the cursor is in that field, then the Edit Media page refreshes and keeps the new title without the error. Still, I think most people would probably think to click Update after updating the title.

It was a bug which is fixed as of version 3.1.1
    Thanks for your feedback!
