Site Cloning Instructions

    Relatively new WP user…

    I am building a community web site + blog using WP.

    Version 1 of the community site was static.

    I have created a test site (hosted at Dreamhost). Migrated content from version 1.

    I want to now, copy the test site (and keep it for future test work) into the real site.

    I could really use a check list to make sure i don’t screw this up. Current Plan

    1: create new site/directory
    2: cp -r all the files from initial site to the new site
    3: clone DB? <not clear on this>
    4: change dns record for V1 url to point at new site
