    Hi there,

First of all, this is a great, much needed plugin, so thanks!

However, I have needed to move my site and this resets the custom thumbnails!
I am using wp 3.5.1 with custom post types, custom fields, and a custom thumbnail size of 180×180.

I have just about exhausted my knowledge and haven’t found a way of retrieving the custom thumbnails.

Are the custom thumbails saved on top of the original thumbnails?, because I have tried copying over the whole uploads folder to the new site, and this displays the correct images, but still defaults the thumbnails. I should mention that although the images are correct, they do not display until I update each post individually (if you could help me with this, too, I would appreciate it :)).

So, can you think of anyway that I can preserve the custom thumbnails whilst changing server?

    Thanks in advance!
    Billy

    There are two parts:

    1. The image is saved in the uploads folder (which you already figured out).
    2. The database is updated with information about the thumbnails. This information appears to be stored in the wp_postmeta table with the meta_key _wp_attachment_metadada. You would probably need to find someone else for information on getting this migrated to a different server, as I’m not sure what sort of problems you would have if you just transferred this information across. I would imagine that you would have to ensure that the post id’s were updated or something, but I’m not sure…
