Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
No, this is not actually a change in TablePress, but in WordPress itself. (It should therefore affect WP-Table Reloaded as well.)
The HTML code the images is coming from WordPress, and when the new media manager was introduced, the “title” attribute was removed in favor of the “alt” attribute, as far as I know.
So, unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about this 🙁 Now, there is some talk going on about re-adding the “title” attribute by the WordPress developers, but until that happens, you’ll have to manually add the “title” attribute to the image HTML code, if you really want it.
Sorry for not having better news.
Regards,
Tobias

Tobias,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I suspect that there are quite a few people out there who have been inconvenienced by this WordPress change, so at least they will now know the reason for any problems they are having.
Congratulations on the new plugin, the migration from WP-Table Reloaded to TablePress was very easy, even for me. The new plugin is working well on my sites.
Once again nmany thanks
MarkV
Hi Mark,
no problem, you are very welcome!
I can’t test right now, but if no “title” attribute is present, don’t browsers just use the “alt” attribute for the small tooltip?
Best wishes,
Tobias
P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

Tobias,
I’ve just added the Title attribute manually to overcome WordPress’s shortcomings. The tooltip doesn’t seem to appear appear with the “alt” attribute.
I have rated TablePress as requested.
Regards
Mark
Hi Mark,
ah ok. Thanks for testing. I guess, I must have been remembering that wrong from the “old” days, when the “alt” attribute in image tags was handled like the “title” is now…
Adding the “title” by hand is then the best option for now.
And thanks for the rating, I really appreciate it!
Best wishes,
Tobias
