    Hi,
I’ve been hunting around for a plugin like this for a while, and it looks like this might do the job for me.

What I need is to allow Buddypress users to email each other, or to email all members of a Buddypress group (even if they are not in the group).

Also, users need to be able to do all this from the front-end of WP, without needing to log in to the backend…

Would I be able to generate custom email groups from the list of BP group users? And can I add the email forms to the front-end?

I’ve tried looking at the web-site for info about any hooks that are available, but can’t seem to get past the marvinlabs front-page…

Any help and advice much appreciated

    Thanks

Email-Users can do some of what you want to do but not all of it. I should probably update the link now that I have taken over most of the development from Vincent, the original author.

Just this week I have been working on the ability to set up custom email groups based on user meta data. You can find some information about what I am working on here and here. The functionality I am working is in response to a request found in this thread on the Support Forum.

That is the good news – the bad news is all of this runs in the backend. I don’t have any plans to move it to the front end right now and I am not sure how much work it would be to do so. It certainly isn’t a trivial thing to do.

Is there a reason your users can’t use the Dashboard?

I am also looking for a user groups plugin that allows emails from the front-end. Does anybody know any?

Email Users does not support Front End interaction for sending email. There are no plans to change this either.
