Site not working after updating w3 total cache

    after update the site did not work (blank page) – I then renamed the directory
    wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache
    to
    wp-content/plugins/old-w3-total-cache

    now the site works again

    please inform me how to remove the w3 total cache plugin and any code it may have installed manually (As I can not run the site without renaming the directory)

    Could be something went wrong during the update. Try removing the wp-content dropins advanced-cache.php, db.php and object-cache.php, remove rules surrounded by #W3TC in .htaccess and remove the plugin folder, then reinstall the plugin.
