• Up until yesterday WordPress Popular Posts was working as intended, but that changed after I updated the Jetpack plugin.

After the update, the thumbnails for the plugin aren’t showing and are taken from an incorrect path.

I don’t know whether this is an issue with WordPress Popular Posts or Jetpack, but I thought I’d share it here in case more people are dealing with this issue.

You can see an example of the issue on this page: http://blackops2-info.com/category/zombies/

I’d be interested in a solution and thank anyone who can come up with a one

    Hi Namli,

Please provide me the following info so I can try to replicate the problem:

    # WordPress Popular Posts installed version
    # Jetpack installed version

    Hi Héctor,

    I’m using the following versions:

    WordPress Popular Posts – 2.3.2
    Jetpack – 2.1.2
    WordPress – 3.5.1

Awesome, thanks for letting me know. Other users have reported that the thumbnail feature isn’t working on WordPress 3.5, so chances are that Jetpack has nothing to do with your issue – you also upgraded your WordPress version to 3.5, right?.

The thumbnails were working with version 3.5.1.

I’m 100% sure the thumbnails stopped working after I updated to the latest version of Jetpack. Whether the 2 are related, I don’t know.

That’s odd. I’m getting two opposite feedbacks here. Will research more about that this upcoming weekend.

In the meanwhile, maybe you can help me here. I’ve been working on a development version that includes some updates related to thumbnails (and other stuff, too). If you want to, give it a try and let me know if it fixes the thumbnail problem.

Updated the plugin with the version you just gave me.

The thumbnails are showing, but the dimensions I gave the thumbnails (100px by 70px) aren’t being applied.

Just checked, width & height are empty in the source code of your page. Try changing the value to something different, save, and set them again to 100×70 and save again.

No luck. Even if I change the dimensions to something different, the thumbnails stay the same.

I also noticed the widget is only showing 4 posts when it should be showing 5.

The widget is called “Trending Posts” by the way.

Alright, I’ll dig a bit on the code then. Will install Jetpack too just to check if it’s causing some sort of conflict with WPP, but I believe that’s not the case.

For the time being, you might want to go back to WPP v2.3.2 since I’m about to go home and won’t be working on the development version for now. Thank you for your help!

Same issue here happened after a Jetpack update.
    WP 3.5
    WPP 2.3.2
    JP 2.1.2 (updated yesterday)

Thumbnails that were generated from the Featured Image before the Jetpack update appear but not after the update.

Alright, it seems there are a few Jetpack plugins out there hehe. Is Jetpack by WordPress.com the one you guys are talking about?

    It’s the WordPress.com Jetpack I’m referring to.

Thank you, wildelycreative. Will get back to you guys as soon as possible.
