• I spent hours installing and uninstalling various notification / ticker / headline etc. plugins, some were workable but poor at best, most were truly awful. Delighted to find this plugin launched today (lucky me!). It’s the kind of quality I’d expect from a modern, professional plugin. Simple to use, a range of nice styles, and works exactly how it should. Well done to the devs 🙂

My only request would be some kind of scrolling feature, that would be cool!

Thanks! 🙂 Glad you like it.

To your scrolling feature — are you talking about if you have a really long message or different messages, that you’d like to scroll through them? Tell me what you’re thinking.

Yes exactly, to both! So if you had a message that was too long (or doesn’t even have to be too long really), it could scroll across the bar from right to left (and repeat if wanted). If you had multiple notifications set up, it could automatically scroll through them from right to left, then you’re entering into proper “news ticker” territory. I guess there will be some jquery out there that could do all of this?

Most importantly is not to lose the great sleek design and function it has already, though. So this scrolling idea could just be toggle options in the settings area.

Yeah, or CSS3 transitions/animation, which is more likely what I’d try to use to keep the size of the plugin down.

Absolutely. It would definitely need to be a toggle-able setting rather than a default.

I’ll keep it in mind and look into the possibilities. Thanks for the feedback!

Query: I am looking for a way of notifying people through our WordPress website about an event in our housing coop – like the water will be turned off tomorrow. I don’t want to have to put up every notice myself – I would like our property management company to be able to do it too. However I don’t want to give the company open access to our website – don’t want them modifying everything, just adding these notices.
Is this possible with your plugin? Can someone be given limited access just to posting these notices.
    Thank you!

@franceswest Possibly, but you’d probably need another plugin to handle giving users restricted access to the back end. There isn’t a specific user capability for posting notifications, so it should share the same write_post capability used for managing content. However, that wouldn’t be a difficult thing to add, I don’t think, so if you needed it, let me know and I can look into adding it. You’d still need another plugin to handle the user roles and capabilities, though. Like Members.

    Thanks for your quick response.
