ok… still don’t understand images

    WHY can I link to an image from any other website on the planet EXCEPT my own domain folder!? This does not make any sense to me… Why can’t I make http://24hrknight/images/image.jpg ?

    I am an old school person with this (26 years old) and I don’t understand why this doesn’t just work like any normal website. I’m no programming guru but I understand the basics of how this works.

    Very very very confusing for me. Is there a guide somewhere on how to hack your system so you can create your own folders to link files to? What if I wanted to link to an mp3 or some other download?

    I find wordpress very tricky to work with, I thought the goal of this new stuff was to make things easier for someone off the street to create web pages…

    Thinking of using one of those freelance sites to hire someone to set up my blog for me properly, thoughts?

    Thanks please advise this must be possible. My own hosting, my own domain, I just want to host my own files lol.

    HMMM… I guess I could just move the blog over to 24hrknight.com/blog huh? Then create or ‘punk’ a homepage design of my own choosing? Couldn’t update it with wordpress but if I kept it dead simple… like a link to the blog and whatever other sections on the site.

    That has GOT ME THINKING!! lol

    I don’t know… wordpress is so difficult.

    How do I use google analytics with this thing? Every single thing has to be screwed up to high heaven because you are using wordpress.

    I have no idea how to do anything. Haha! They should sell a massive book that teaches you how to use it and give the profits to African children. They could probably send half of them to Harvard.

    It’s not difficult. Your previous “knowledge” of traditional html websites might make for you difficult to switch around. Try reading some instructions in the Codex:

    Thanks moshu. I’ll read up.

    I just get cranky when i have to learn something new.

    My old knowledge was very rudimentary but it’s sure not helping me here… I feel like I’m back in High School and I don’t like how the teacher is teaching… I hate being structured into a system like this it’s bothering the hell out of me.

    But how else am I going to blog? HAH!

    Structures and systems are good – they bring order and logic in life.
    Your problem is not with the system but with your approach: instead of trying to learn it and making to serve you… you are trying to “force” it to work as you think it should 🙂
