Direct Linking

You can directly link your website by inserting a small snippet of code on your website and then listing that website as your Google+ page’s primary link in the About section of the profile. For example, if your Google+ page’s primary link is set to http://www.pagewebsite.com, you can create a bidrectional link by placing the following code snippet in the <head> tag of the site’s HTML:

I dont know where to put the code, where on my home page?

The <head> in WordPress is found in your theme files, typically header.php.

If you edit this file and then update your theme later, your edits will be lost – they will not be if you use a Child Theme.

You can use Google Authorship Plugin or add the code in header.php

Actually, add it just above the closing head tag which will be </head>

I’m having the same problem. I’ve pasted the Google+ verification code into header.php, as well as index.php and other places. It isn’t working. I’m hoping to get this linked so I can start showing up in Google searches. I’d appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

Yeah, but Google plus is stating to put this code in the homepage… so do we have to do anything different than from putting it in the header.php file? Or, is this doing the same thing as putting in the homepage?

Hi guys

I installed the “google author link” plugin and simply entered the url in the plugin settings section. Had to enter it as follows:
https://plus.google.com/{+PageId}
NOT
<Link href=”https://plus.google.com/{+PageId}” rel=”publisher” />

Got a success message from google+, so it seems to work.
