  • @shane,

    Username? For where?

    If you are still using the HTML version of 8.2 then it’s quite likely you will lose the HTML functionality if you upgrade via the WordPress plugin page.

    If you still have an active membership at WPPlugins.com you can download updates from there, otherwise you’ll need to join at SemperPlugins.com as WPPlugins.com is closing down.

    Username is for WPPlugins.com, there is a tab for download and the file is there, but not sure which version.

    @shane,

    It’ll be 8.7.

    When you upload it, deactivate your current version in WordPress, upload the new plugin with FTP software to a folder called subsicrbe2_html and erase the old subscribe2 folder. Then re-activate the plugin.

    You’ll get a prompt still when an update is available and when your membership at WPPlugins.com expires and you transfer to SemperPlugins the update can be applied automatically without reverting to the free version.

    Hi Matty

    I am trying to upgrade to 8.9 from 8.7 and followed your instruction above. Problem is that after I upload via ftp and erase the old version the plugin disappears in WordPress. I then tried to upload the plugin through wordpress and it requires a licence. I cannot find the licence in http://wpplugins.com/.

    @shane,

    You don’t need a license code for as long as you can access updates at wpplugins.com. Once you can’t access updates there anymore you need to renew at Semperplugins.com.

    Hi Matty

    I can access updates at wpplugins.com which I downloaded the latest version from. Problem is when I upload it via FTP the plugin disappears from the WordPress backend and when I upload the plugin from plugins in the backend it requests the licence code.

    When you say renew, does that mean we have to pay again when transferring to Semperplugins.com?

    Can you not just move our account now? the issue I am having is that the excerpts have disappeared, which is very weird as I did not remove it from the template and I am the only person who works on the development side. Other users do not have permissions to edit code.

    Are you able to assist with that then?

    Thank you in advance.

    @shane,

    If I could have migrate accounts I would have done but the recurring PayPal subscriptions were all cancelled and even if they hadn’t have been you can’t change the recipient. Continued access to support and updates is based on a periodic payment and this has been duplicated at the new sales site. You can simply renew there and when you do you’ll get the license code, in the meantime the code will work fine without a code.

    If a manual upload makes the plugin disappear then you are doing something wrong. Just replace the existing files and folders.

    I don’t know what ‘the excerpts have disappeared’ means. In a previous thread you seem to be using the code in digest mode so is {POST} still in the template.

    Hi Matty

    Hope you well.

    Referring to the above, does that mean we would be required to pay another subscription and if so what is the fee please?

    Yes {POST} is still in the template, that is what I mean by excerpts.

    Regards

    Shane

    @shane,

    I’m okay – thanks for asking 🙂

    If you want to investigate renewing look here:
    http://semperplugins.com/subscribe2-html-support-updates-renewal/

    If you have {POST} in your template you should be getting an excerpt of the post in your emails.
